
Katie Shaffer, M.Ed,ADHD-CE Certified Educational Diagnostician
Katie Shaffer, M.Ed., ADHD-CE is an Educational Diagnostician with over 22 years of experience working with and diagnosing children with learning differences. She earned her Master of Education degree from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Baylor University. She is also an ADHD Certified Educator and a former Special Education teacher.
Katie worked at Pediatricians of Dallas as an educational diagnostician. Prior to that, she conducted educational assessments in school districts. She specializes in evaluations for children with developmental delays, ADHD, learning disabilities, dyslexia, mood and behavior challenges, and executive function difficulties. Her work includes full batteries of IQ, Achievement, Oral Language, and ADHD testing, as well as screening for anxiety and depression. She also conducts reevaluations for high-functioning autism.
Katie is deeply committed to helping parents gain insight into their child’s individual learning style and providing them with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively advocate for their child’s success.She believes that through comprehensive assessments and personalized recommendations, families and educators can better support each child’s strengths and challenges.
As a mother of two—ages 17 and 21—Katie understands firsthand the importance of advocacy in a child’s educational journey. She is a member of CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and remains committed to ongoing learning in the field. Outside of her work, she enjoys hiking, running, and getting lost in a good book.
